Dr. Tang’s academic research focuses on the pathogenesis and pharmacotherapy of brain injury, primarily traumatic brain injury and ischemic stroke. She works with colleagues to understand the mechanism of progesterone in treatment of brain injury on anti-inflammation and neuroprotection.
Her previous research studied the pathogenesis of cerebrovascular disease using rodent ischemia models in a highly equipped and academically funded Chinese neuropathology laboratory. As a neuroscience researcher with the highest standard of training, Dr. Tang’s research will contribute to the development of Dr. Stein’s laboratory.
Dr. Tang has published 11 original scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has prepared several more for publication.
Huiling Tang achieved her M.Sc. (2005) and Ph.D. (2010), both in Neuropathology, from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China.
